Open HospitalUse Case

Open Hospital is an open source HIMS software – Health Information Management System – developed by ISF in order to support hospitals, dispensaries and medical centers in daily operations management. A group of ISF experts volunteers is constantly working to develop it and upgrade it to make it more useful and functional, providing training and advice necessary for the effective and sustainable implementation, even going on site. Currently Open Hospital is installed and used in Italy and in developing countries, mainly in Sub-Saharan Africa (Angola, Benin, Cameroon, Kenya, Madagascar, Tanzania, Uganda) in the Horn of Africa and Islands (Ethiopia, Somaliland) but also in the rest of the world (Afghanistan, Burma, Nepal, Yemen); in Italy the program has been implemented for the management of a particular reality as the CESAIM – Immigrants Health Center in Verona which aims to provide outpatient medical services to migrants without a valid residence permit and health card and therefore having no access to the national health care.
